He's even been tasked with promotional art for the Olympics next year. The artist of the series, Hirohiko Araki has been noted as one of the greatest artist to come out of Japan this century. It's also the only manga series to be given an exhibition in the Louvre and it also has several art exhibitions across Japan. A lot of other Japanese media like certain game series have also been influenced by and referenced JoJo. Almost any manga and anime you can think of since it's rise to popularity have been inspired by it in at least some way.
